Austrian Individual Time Trial Champion Martina Ritter might ride for a relatively unknown team, BTC City Ljubljana), but she refused to be intimidated by the start list at the Nagrada Ljubljane TT despite the fast that it featured some of the best-known names in cycling, from some of the best-known professional teams – among them Vera Koedooder (Bigla), Alena Amialiusik (Astana-BePink) and Edwige Pitel (SC Michela Fanini ROX) – and blitzed the flat 18.6km parcours in 24’40” at 45.24kph, 13″ faster than second-placed Koedooder. Third place went to Taryn Heather, also of Bigla, who finished 33″ slower than Ritter.

The event was rated 1.2 by the UCI and also served as the Slovenian National ITT Championships. The fastest Slovenian rider was Ritter’s team mate Polona Batagelj at +1’30”, followed by Sara Frece and Rutar Tjasa (both Slovenian National Team) at +2’04” and +2’07” respectively.
