65 Roses Barnsley Criterium needs riders

Open to riders in the E/1/2/3/4 categories, the 65 Roses Criterium is due to take place on the 24th of June but has at present received only eight entries. Bringing cycle racing to the centre of Barnsley for the first time in a decade, the race will raise money for a very good cause, Team Cystic Fibrosis.

The women’s race follows the standard 45-minute format and offers £500 to the winner with £250 for second place and £150 for third, with all top ten riders receiving a prize. It looks to be a good parcours with a selection of corners and fast straights, so it ought to be an interesting and well-spectated event that will become an established feature on the domestic calendar over the next few years – we’ll be taking a closer look in the coming days.

Entry is £18 via British Cycling, and the official race website is here.
