“Matrix Fitness Pro Cycling are thrilled to confirm the signing of Heather Fischer from the USA. Her attacking performances have been seen repeatedly in Europe this season as part of the hugely impressive USA National Team.

Heather started the season with a stand out performance in Omloop van het Hageland. Although that solo effort didn’t bring Heather the result she wanted, she’s continued to believe in her attacking style and it paid off in the Acht van Westerveld where she finished 5th from a breakaway in impressive company.

Colorado resident Heather commented, “Matrix Fitness is a fun group of driven professionals seeking to improve themselves and the sport; I am thrilled to be on board. This is not only an opportunity to continue racing in the European peloton but an opportunity for growth, leadership and teamwork with this young, up and coming women’s UCI team.”

Heather has recently completed in the AVIVA Women’s Tour, her first experience of racing in the UK. Having featured in several long breakaway attempts, it was during that race her contract with the Matrix Fitness team was finalised. In the coming weeks Heather will race in Thuringen as part of the National team, and then join up with her new Matrix team mates at La Course.

“It’s been a great start to the season for the Heather, and we’re really happy to have her join the squad. La Course is certainly a huge event to start with a new team but we know that over the coming seasons Heather can develop into one of the leading riders in the peloton. Heather is just the type of rider we are looking to add to the team as build for the future with a more international feel,” commented team manager Stefan Wyman.”
